MPack’s commitment to the development of ESG culture in all its activities has led to significant investments:

  • Installation of a solar panel array for electricity production,
  • Upgrade of the heat supply facilities by replacing fossil fuel with Natural Gas and system optimization for energy saving,
  • Implementation of a resource saving program – reduction of water and waste management.

We aim to create sustainable and innovative packaging solutions that ensure product safety with respect to people and the planet.
We are committed to minimising our environmental footprint, engaging our employees and encouraging positive social impact on the communities we serve.

About MPack’s ESG Strategy

By completing the ESG strategy in partnership with Global Sustain (co-funded by EBRD), MPACK aims to achieve its purpose, vision and mission while making significant progress in Corporate Responsibility, Employee engagement and Positive environmental and social impact over the next three years and beyond.

Environment

Climate Change and Circular Economy

Objectives
  • Participation in international ESG and circular economy initiatives.
  • Measurement, monitoring, and progressive reduction of MPack’s Carbon Footprint.
  • ISO 50001 – Energy Management System Certification.
  • Covering 75% of the company’s electricity needs from the company’s solar systems.
  • Increasing the use of recycled materials in product packaging.
Measurements
  • Direct Emissions (Scope 1) and Indirect Emissions (Scope 2).
  • Percentage of electricity production from the company’s solar panels.
  • 95% recycled materials in packaging products (separation of measurements into A’ and B’ materials).

Recycling: >300 tons/year

Social

Supporting Local Community

Objectives
  • Establishment of an educational programme in local schools for the practical application of the circular economy in the different phases of product development such as production, waste management and conversion for resource reuse and the overall extension of product life cycle.
  • Strengthening the company’s contribution to local initiatives that contribute to social welfare and protection of natural resources.
  • Continuation of stakeholder engagement activities such as discussions, focus groups.

More than 20 social activities for the local communities every year.

Employee Well-being and Prosperity

Objectives
  • Annual Employee Satisfaction Survey.
  • Provide trainings to <50% of employees on ESG practices such as circular design principles.
  • Arranging employee health and safety training and safety audits on an annual basis.
Measurements
  • 85% employee satisfaction through an annual survey (employee satisfaction rate).
  • 20% of employees participated in training programs to develop sustainable packaging solutions.
  • 60% of employees participated in health and safety training.
  • 2% Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR).
